Duties:
• Lead the negotiation of physical contracts with customers and traders across Canada, USA and Mexico.
• Devise, implement and monitor the North America Nanshan Aluminum sales strategy.
• Set revenue targets and key performance indicators; and project sales volume and margin for existing and new products, working closely with the Portfolio team.
• Lead and drive sales team to deliver revenue targets and business results.
• Develop strong and professional relationships with key customers.
• Guide the sales managers in the development and execution of account management plans.
• Coordinate global sales activities for key opportunities.
• Lead or participate in large contract negotiations.
• Spot market opportunities for new customers.
• Attend key meetings with members of the sales team in China over phone.
• Motivate, coach, and drive strategic thinking in the sales team to achieve the best results possible.
• Provide continual training and development of all members of the sales department from China.
• Identify key areas for improvement in the sales process and implement best practices in sales techniques.
• Work collaboratively with China sales team to drive for balancing business needs and uncover potential new business opportunities.
• Be the voice of the market and customer in the S&OP process.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years prior work experience in sales/trading of commodity/metals, especially on Aluminum, aerospace, airplane, metal distribution line, with experience of managing a team reporting to you.
• B.A. Engineering, Business, Finance or related field or equivalent work.
• Relevant industry background gained from a competitor or company in a related Aluminum industry.
• Some understanding of hedging and derivative instruments preferred.
• Good understanding of contracts and legal issues associated with them.
• Excellent people skills, leadership, and an ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
• Proven track record of building business and hitting sales targets.
• Strong commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial approach to business development.
• Good experience in team working and collaboration in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment.
• Experience of presenting proposals to customers at senior management level.
