Description:
The Foreman ensures all individuals who work under him/her carryout their assigned tasks safely and diligently with an emphasis on quality. The Foreman is required to execute project schedules on time while complying with Health & Safety program. Responsibilities:- Ensure all crewmembers are actively engaged and working in accordance with all safety and quality procedures
- Work with General Superintendent and Project Manager to ensure active jobs are adequately staffed with the appropriate trades
- Coordinate all daily communication and activities with the customer, management team and subcontractors onsite.
- Plan, prepare and coordinate all site material and consumable deliveries, ensuring all required items are onsite and inventoried a minimum of 2 weeks prior to scheduled work
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly jobsite at all times
- Receive, inventory and document all equipment and material deliveries, notifying the Project Manager when delivered items are not in compliance with purchase orders, equipment schedules or project specifications
- Ensure all work is executed with an emphasis on quality
- Verify all welds are cleaned, stenciled, clear coated and visually inspected daily
- Generate detailed welds maps for all installed piping
- Responsible for submitting accurate weekly timesheets for all field hands and rig welders
- Issue disciplinary and corrective actions to field hands and rig welders as needed
- Ensure your crew have the tools, consumables and equipment needed to safely and successfully complete the project on schedule
- Conduct daily coordination meetings with crew and provide technical assistance and problemsolving support as needed
- Maintain accurate record keeping for all field documentation (JHA, Equipment Inspections, CSI, Toolbox Talk, 3 Week Look Ahead, Vehicle Inspections, Daily Reports, etc.)
- Ensure all welding is conducted in accordance with company welding procedures
- Ensure company vehicle and tool trailers are properly maintained and road ready
- Work with Engineering, General Superintendent and Project Manager to verify current project documentation (drawings, revised specifications, RFI responses, change orders, revised submittals and cut-sheets) are followed.
- Deliver quality as-built red lined drawings upon project completion
- Attend management team and customer’s weekly project coordination meetings as needed
- Coordinate the timely return of rental equipment and gas bottles prior to demobilization
- Monitor tools to safeguard against theft
- Responsible for organizing and storing all hard copies of MTRs onsite
- Work with the Project Manager or General Superintendent to perform material takeoffs and identify rental equipment needs when applicable
- Assist with the development of a 3 Week Look Ahead Schedule for your project and review with the General Superintendent and Project Manager on a weekly basis
- Assist Project Manager with the development of equipment pick plans and site safety requirements when crane work is required
Qualifications:
To perform this job, an individual must be able to successfully perform each essential duty defined above. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.- Education: Vocational School or Equivalence
- Field Experience: 3 – 5 years’ experience as an industrial refrigeration pipe fitter and welder
- Management Experience: 1+ years proven leadership in a Foreman role, managing multimillion dollar industrial refrigeration projects on time and under budget
- Must be proficient with the following Microsoft programs: Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Good English communication skills (verbal and in writing) required
- Must be able to manage all personality types in the field to optimize jobsite performance
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks daily
- Must be able to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics and submittals in order to install all equipment and piping per drawings specifications
