The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that all preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance issues are resolved efficiently and effectively in order to support production. The Maintenance Supervisor directs his team during the shift and creates opportunities for learning and improvement when possible.
Minimum qualifications required:
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Some post-secondary education; Associates or Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent experience
- Experience: 5 years progressive leadership experience; coaching others to success
- Job-Specific Knowledge and Skills: Willing to work overtime or on other shifts as necessary; excellent understanding/knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, combustion, electrical and mechanical maintenance; excellent understanding/knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance principles; excellent understanding of housekeeping and safety principles; meticulous attention to detail and ability to research and solve problems; Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS utilization; good math, reading and blueprint reading skills; ability to present positive communications to departmental employees; communication, coaching, counseling and managing skills are essential; OSHA knowledge will be an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and facilitate Pay for Performance, communication and other assigned metrics, feedback loops according to the company expectations, providing and monitoring employee development opportunities
- Uphold documented standards of performance in preventative and predictive maintenance according to department standards to ensure prompt and correct response to production needs and safety
- Prioritize shift assignments and available staffing according to company standards in order to meet safety, quality, training, uptime and efficiency goals
- Foster an environment where employees will willingly make extra effort to exceed goals and look for opportunities to improve our processes and develop a lean, responsive and knowledgeable workforce
- Respond to and resolve when appropriate breakdowns, discrepancies or non-conforming machine performance based on departmental procedure in order for the Production or Maintenance teams to make corrections or adjustments to processes appropriately 6 Apply and provide accountability of all safety rules, participation in safety practices, LOTO and wearing of PPE according to company standards and government regulations in order to facility a safe working environment. Assist management with communication and compliance of company strategic initiatives

Physical & Sensory Effort:
- Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs; Frequent use of forklift/mobile equipment; physical demands include frequent lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking and reaching into/working in tight areas .
- Frequent visual and audio monitoring of processes.
- Frequent climbing over 4 feet. Frequent working under heavy equipment.
- Low frequent operation of overhead crane. High frequency of visual monitoring of HMI panels and PLC driven panels. Frequent data entry of necessary maintenance information.
- Frequent use of raised maintenance platform over 4 feet.
- Frequent confined space entry
Working Conditions
- Exposed to outside conditions year round; Frequent exposure to molten metal at temperatures reaching 1300 degrees F.
- Frequent exposure to extreme ambient temperatures depending on the season.
- Frequent exposure to overhead loads.
- Frequent exposure to possible pinch points.
- Frequent exposure to loud noise.
