Primary Purpose: Lead maintenance department to ensure that production equipment is kept in a safe and operable condition to assure efficient production of quality parts. Implement predictive and proactive maintenance systems to avoid costly and unscheduled downtime.
Education Requirements
- Prefer Associates Degree related to Industrial Maintenance or experience in lieu of education.
- High School Diploma
- 3 years previous experience
- Stamping background required
- Strong electrical background
- Strong mechanical ability to troubleshoot & repair
- Technical skills necessary in the areas of industrial electricity, PLC controls, hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Supervise and delegate workload to maintenance staff in an organized and efficient manner with continuous improvement and proactive maintenance
- Implement a predictive maintenance strategy to insure the plant equipment is operating at a maximum efficiency.
- Schedule major maintenance functions by communicating with the production groups as required.
- Oversee and assist troubleshooting of problems with production and related equipment.
- Ensure maintenance repair request are being addressed, resolved and returned for proper record keeping in a timely manner.
- Requisitions and control maintenance parts inventory to ensure that sufficient inventory levels are maintained.
- Oversee and enforce preventative maintenance schedule and continual PM improvement.
- Coach maintenance staff and ensure that all maintenance functions are performed in a pro-active/ continuous improvement atmosphere.
- Manage outside contractors for special projects and ongoing maintenance as required and ensure that contractors comply with TSL standards, policies and procedures.
- Suggest methods of improvement, i.e. continuous improvement plan.
- Schedule overtime as required to ensure necessary maintenance coverage while keeping OT reduction a focus.
- Ensure positive enforcement of company policies, practices and procedures as they relate to Safety, Quality and productivity.
- Work with all employees to continuously improve quality and production.
- Assist in TS-16949 implementation and maintenance as required.
- Technical skills necessary (Industrial Electricity, PLC Controls, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics)
- Input maintenance associates hours work on a daily basis
- Input maintenance associates daily time keeping sheet in Excel for charting
- Maintain maintenance work order system by opening work orders and closing of work orders to be as accurate with actual as possible.
- Maintain MP2 system by generating PM’s, printing and closing PM’s.
- Collect data for monthly management review meetings (Top 5 opportunities, PM, work orders & projects)
- Maintain a good rapport with maintenance personnel, vendors and production.
- Order necessary components for work to be completed.
- Prompt completion of PO’s and turn in to accounting.
- Maintain maintenance associate vacation calendar to ensure manpower stays a appropriate level.
- Administer discipline as necessary and submit documents to HR and keep open lines of communication with HR.
- Be present in 8D meetings, production meetings and road block remover meetings as scheduled.
- Be prepared to present pertinent maintenance department data at the scheduled Maintenance Meetings.
