The Pressroom Supervisor is responsible for supervising and overseeing the set-up, inspection, and production of stampings using Progressive, Compound, and secondary tools. Responsible for production schedules and posting of daily work assignments based upon production needs. Must be shop floor oriented and provide “hands-on” support for all reports on a daily basis.
Duties include:
- Supervising 6-10 press operators and 1-2 die setters
- Direct/work with die setter to set up 25 ton to 120 ton power presses and their auxiliary equipment including air feeds, straighteners, die sensors, and stock oilers.
- Ensure all presses are set up in a safe manor (all guards, light curtains, and sensors) in place and active.
- Supervise the operation of progressive, compound, and secondary dies.
- Insure QC requirements are met and maintained throughout the run
- Resolve metal stamping production issues
- Maintain production logs and documentation
- Maintain a clean and organize environment
- Work with toolroom on all maintenance/ repair requirements
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years pressroom experience setting up progressive and compound dies
- Ability to read and understand engineering prints and standard work instructions
- Ability to perform basic maintenance on shop equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA standards as related to a pressroom environment
