RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide project level oversight for industrial refrigeration construction projects
- Act as primary business manager for Industrial Refrigeration construction projects
- Maintain primary responsibility for redemption of equipment, material and subcontractor estimates; secondary responsibility for labor and other costs
- Negotiate and manage pricing of all change orders
- Develop and maintain project schedule
- Submit RFIs and review responses to determine scope impact
- Interface with engineering and detailing department to providing required detailing information, resolve conflicts, and discuss ideas to increase project profitability
- Plan and coordinate with Construction Manager on requirements of the projects as they relate to schedule, sequence, production and quality
- Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with the customer
- Interpret project specifications and make decisions for choices relating to equipment and materials
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years’ experience as a Project Manager for industrial mechanical related construction projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction, or Construction Engineering
- Possess a valid driver’s license and willing to travel 30% of time (15% overnight travel)
- Knowledge and interest of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, accounting, cost forecasting, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of building materials, engineering standards and codes
- Client management skills; ability to manage customer relationships, perceptions and expectations
- Production management skills; ability to visualize, plan, and execute to achieve budgeted goals
- Ability to deal diplomatically with internal and external customers at various levels within an organization—i.e., owners, GC’s, subcontractors, engineers,
- superintendents, draftsmen, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency interfacing with technology, including knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel for cost estimating and engineering functions
- Capable of maintaining a high energy level to handle a dynamic, fast-paced workload
