Briana M. Gaumer
BIOGRAPHY
Briana M. Gaumer focuses her practice on family law and estate planning matters.
In the area of family law, Briana knows that some of the most important assets her clients possess are their children and the home that they have built. For this reason, her passion is to get her clients through an emotional and stressful period of life to a better place and future. Her goal is to explain complex legal concepts in a way that clients understand so that they can make informed and confident decisions.
Whether she is representing a client in a contested or amicable divorce, a hard custody case, or a severe domestic violence incident, Briana does not speak down to her clients. She is transparent and communicates often and clearly.
Briana has successfully litigated custody and divorce matters up and through trial. She is well-versed in unique issues that may arise in family law cases such as jurisdiction disputes, custody relocation, complex equitable distribution, grandparents’ custody, same-sex issues, and COVID-19 related custody disputes. She also negotiates and drafts pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements.
In conjunction with her family law focus, Briana has also developed an estate planning and administration practice. She routinely drafts Powers of Attorney, Wills, and other estate documents.
A Lehigh Valley native, Briana graduated from Lehigh University with a double major in Political Science and Religion while simultaneously being a full-time student-athlete on the Lehigh University Women’s Softball Team. She received her law degree from Widener University School of Law. During law school, Briana participated in the Widener Civil Law Clinic where she represented low-income clients in various civil actions, with a focus on family law. Also, while in law school, Briana was the recipient of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Eric D. Turner Award, and the Widener University School of Law Outstanding Service Award. This is where she first developed her passion for family law.
